The forest road begins to feel endless through the thick night sky. As time slips away, a faint glow in the distance delights your eye. Rapidly approaching the glimmer of hope for respite, a golden swaying sign with the words "Last Stop Carnival' points the way to your relief. A mellow melody begins to play, drawing you in closer & closer. 

Beneath a single lantern, a lone ticket booth awaits. 

As the ticket tears, the world exhales into a cloud of thick white smoke.

The carnival stirs to life. Strings of dim bulbs buzz overhead, casting an ambient glow on the puddled ground beneath your feet. The air is thick with scent: crisp apple and cider, warm and sharp, curling through the night like a lure. Golden caramel drips slow, sticking to the cool autumn air. Cinnamon sparks like embers, pulling you closer to the midway where shadows dance. A soft whisper of coffee hums beneath it all, dark and grounding, making every sweet note feel deeper.

With each step over the fallen leaves, the tents begin to crowd around you, their fabric delicately flowing in the wind.  Brown sugar, butterscotch, and caramelized sugar dance together into a deliciously sweet breeze.  Beyond them, the air grows heavier, sweeter still — chocolate and vanilla spilling from the heart of the carnival like a promise too rich to refuse.

And then you see it: a lone caramel apple, shining under a crooked lamplight, carefully placed as if it had been waiting for your arrival.
As the sugar cracks with your urge to sink your teeth into its temptations,
The music stops.

From the shadows, the ringmaster steps into sight before you, top hat tilted ever so slightly in delight.
“Welcome traveler,” he says, grinning wide.
"You're finally here, now the fun can begin, & never end..."
